I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;

I will sing praises to you among the nations.

For your steadfast love is great to the heavens,

your faithfulness to the clouds.

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!

Let your glory be over all the earth!

Prayer of Confession

Lord Jesus Christ, you came in order to serve, not to be served. We confess how unlike you we are in both our attitudes and actions. We serve when it is convenient for us or when it furthers our own purposes and agenda. We are reluctant to do so when it would be costly to us. Forgive us for our failure to love you and be your imitators. Forgive us for our failure to love others. How grateful we are that you have given your life as a ransom for many. Now give us your strength in order that we might pour our lives out for you and for those you have placed in our lives. We ask this for your sake and the sake of your kingdom. Amen

Confession of Faith

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth,

and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died,

and was buried.  He descended to the dead.  The third day he arose again

from the dead.   He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God

the Father Almighty, whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. 

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Church, the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
