Prayer of Confession

Heavenly Father, we praise you for adopting us as your children and making us heirs of eternal life in your Son Jesus Christ, who has freed us from our sins by his blood. Yet we still fail to love you with all our heart, or serve you as we ought. Pardon our offences, we pray, and make us clean, that we may persevere as members of Christ, in whom alone is salvation. Amen.

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

Confession of Faith

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth,

and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died,

and was buried.  He descended to the dead.  The third day he arose again

from the dead.   He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God

the Father Almighty, whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. 

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Church, the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
